Counselling can’t make all our worries go away, but it can help us to manage our feelings better.

Effective therapy equips us with greater self-understanding and the confidence to cope with both crisis and change.

I work with clients across a wide range of issues including:

Anxiety (including stress, panic attacks, generalised anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder)

Depression, mood swings, feelings of emptiness

Relationships (intimate relationships, family relationships, parenting)

Self-esteem, confidence issues, finding your voice

Grief and loss

Health-related issues, including cancer

Anger issues

Traumatic experiences from past and present

Addictive behaviour – alcohol, drugs, eating disorders

Work conflicts, work/life balance, redundancy

Navigating life transitions and ageing

Identity issues (exploring “Who am I really?”)

Change comes about when you become what you are, not when you try to become what you are not.

Working with me

I'm a humanistic practitioner and I'm proud of my qualifications and experience. You can check through some of my areas of expertise here

However, I also appreciate that, with so many different approaches and techniques to choose from, navigating the world of therapy can be a challenge in itself.

So it's important to say that, according to research, it's the relationship between client and therapist, rather than any particular theory, that really makes the difference in successful counselling. You need to be able to say at the outset, 'Yes I think I can work with you', or, 'No I don't think I can.'

That's why I offer a 90 minute first assessment session (the cost is the same price as a regular 50 minute session), so that we can both test the 'fit' between us.  This gives you the chance to check whether you feel comfortable and safe with me.  At the same time, I can ensure that I am able to offer you the help you need or, alternatively, signpost you to more specialist support.

I’ve compiled some FAQs here to cover the basics about therapy with me. You can also call or email me and we can arrange to talk on the phone about any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you.
